Had an idea popped into my mind.
Use a heavy duty garbage bag as one time emergency flotation for your kayak stern.
Probably and hopefully a one time use but useful, kept stored in your equipment bag, should you or one of your newbie, to kayak, friends forget their flotation or simply not have one, or rented a kayak without!
Since you’re probably going to be the one going after their boat if they swim why not make it easier on them and especially yourself by providing them some on the spot, cheap flotation?
