Not sure if I will bring my kayak but I will join you afterwards at the Royal Oak on Richman Road.

Bummer! I hadn't known that he was sick, but I guess I had wondered why he didn't show up at Champlain this past Spring. Besides for bumping into each other at Champlain over the years we would sometimes find ourselves in the same lineup at the workplace cafeteria in a large building. We never talked much about work but usually about exploring new/old places.

I will likely be there Saturday.

It is with much sadness that I bring you this bad news. John Nikiforuk, a member of the Ottawa paddling community for decades, passed this morning (Sept 14) after losing his battle with cancer. There will be a get together paddle in his memory from Bate Island this coming Saturday, September 17. Along with your paddling gear, hopefully you can bring along a story to share. People are planning to be there for 1:00 pm.
