I'll be there, for Saturday at least--not sure if I'm camping or driving back that night!

Gatineau River weekend 9-10-11

This annual summer event is always fun. Some people make it a weekend, arriving Friday. Most decide to drive up Saturday morning for the day trip on the Gatineau followed by dinner in the evening.

Meet time: Saturday 10 at 10 am

Meet place: Bonnet Rouge Campground

Info at:  http://www.bonnetrougerafting.com/?lang=en

Map for directions at: https://maps.app.goo.gl/PMq3nQe29CzjaiKF7

Registration:

Please arrive at the designated time or slightly before to provide time to register, pay access/camping fees, chit chat, set up your tent, and get your gear ready for paddling. Camping  fees are as follows:

Camping: $27/ person/night included is the cost of put in/take out access.

Shuttle:

The club pays for a shuttle on Saturday morning if the shuttle is available (i.e. Isabelle told us that her truck was broke  fuel pumps,,)

Dinner: The Club will offer Salmon, sausage,  pulled pork, corn and potatoes,
Others can bring veggies, snacks, salads, dessert etc.
Please bring a plate, cutlery and chair etc

Gatineau River

Plenty of info describing the Gatineau can be found on the internet. A good place to begin is http://cdb-ottawa.com/rivers-rapides/ and clicking on the appropriate link. In a nutshell, the Gatineau is a long lake, broken up by Class III/IV rapids with sharp rocks along the shore, all in a very majestic setting. The river is not busy with other boat traffic. All rapids are signed with a portage sign and route. Big water fun or try the creek line river right at the Bec du Corbeau.  Expect the river trip to last 3-4 hours so bring something to eat and drink.

Membership:  The club is covering the shuttle and food so please consider becoming a member  ($20)
There is a link on our web site to complete your signup:   https://cdb-ottawa.com/membership-adhesion
We'll bring along some paper forms but it's easier to do it online...
