Bill, Jim, Larry, Rob, James, myself and Wendy representing the gentle gender.

OK... THAT's a nice river.
Not much flat sections - beside that lake, lots of variety (boofs and elbows and etc) and nice wild scenery straight from the Group of 7. Felt like Tom Thomson riding shutgun with me.

Like Rob said, the 4km hike in on the gravel road should keep the natural beauty intact.
Not withstanding the driving distance...
Somehow, the shoulders are tired tonight.

Nice little adventure today.
Thanks to my paddling partners for the wonderful day.

Yep, I can go.

Sounds like fun ... no bugs yet?
I could use a ride though.

Harness for the Kayak ... use some rope and pool noodles

Looking forward to complete the trio of Stugges. ;D
And sharing a ride overthere...

I need to figure out a solution to carry the heavy creeker....
Thinking of getting fold-away wheel for sea kayaks... that my wife will enjoy later on.

Hi folks,

With levels holding and little prospect of rain, this will probably our best opportunity to catch Upper Pet this spring.

Meeting place is the Irving Truck Stop at the corner of Hwy 17 & 41 just south of Pembroke at 8:45 AM.

Google/ GPS co-ordinates: 45.798170, -77.114668

Those wanting to have breakfast there should plan to arrive by 8:00 AM.
Give yourself 1.5+ hours to get there at legal highway speeds.

The river is class 3 - 4 with a few larger drops that can be carried around if needed.

Bring walking shoes, lots of water, bug juice and some method of carrying or dragging
your creeker or river runner the 4 km to the put-in.
Saturday is forecast to be 19 degrees so the walk will be easier than some previous trips.

Call me at home after 6:00 PM at (613) 224-8507 to confirm and arrange rides.

Bill
