Hi Mike,

I've got a car and I'm alone if your interested. I'm in Farrhaven and can stop and pick you up... or transfer my stuff to your car. I don't care either way. Carpooling is always good :) Let me know.

Luc

Meh, I guess I'll be fine. Looking at the forecast... with that sun I'm pretty sure I'll be dandy. Thanks for the offer though!

Hey, is a wetsuit required this time of year for this event? I can rent one if need be, but I don't want to be too hot... or too cold.

Hey there ... this event sounds terrific, I'll be there ... couple of courses under my belt, just bought a boat this week, should be a great way to get those first few scratches on the new paint, so to speak.

The river level has now dipped below 10 on the Owl gauge. It might even be significantly lower by the time we run the river Saturday. This means that the Middle Channel should be a relatively tame run for novices, there are easy lines everywhere, even Lower No Name.

Apart form McKoy's rapids. This one should provide entertainment to our new members, as they watch those attempting to punch, or 'thread the needle' between two large holes... Here's a good illustration:

Crap... I got really busy and wasn't able to check the board... so I missed your post Christian. So are there usually people there every Thursday night? If so, I may stop by next week. I've got a Project x56 on the top of my car right now... heading to the cottage in a few. I'll see if I can at least get the rolls before then.

Looking forward to this. I assume we will be contacted with more details at a later date.

Salut!

Luc, just go to the Champlain bridge Bate island tonight, you will be able to practice rolling in the flatwater below, and practice going in and out of the current. All this while watching people surf the wave! The level is still high. Typically after 5:30 there is people there. Then we go to Whispers... --Christian

Luc, I think that would actually be a great opportunity for a first time! Lots of paddlers, different class of rapids, a good amount of flats.. :)

Since I'm a new member... I'm definitely interested. Problem is I have never done whitewater kayaking yet. I am very comfortable in the kayaks, I have taken a rolling course (and succeeded) a few weeks ago but the boat was not a playboat. I am now renting some gear this weekend (a project x56) so that I can try and hopefully be comfortable doing the back deck roll on flat water. Assuming I succeed and have no issues with this, would this level of skill be enough for this event? I know you say you can walk the rapids... but obviously I'd like to run some. I have been doing whitewater canoeing for years... but whitewater kayaking is a new thing that I really hope to learn this summer.
