Hey Guys!

I guess I'll see you there. I will leave early on Monday as I want to get back in town at a decent time.

We will start at Baby Face and most probably work on our way down to the lorn. We don't really have specific plans.

See you all tomorrow on the river

Level was still -1.
Garb and Push Button in full attire.

I had loads of fun on Garb.
Alex from Montreal and I spent over 3 hrs on it.
Garb is easy to catch as long as you stick to surfer right.

Then we moved to Pushbutton for a couple of hours.
Currently, Push Button's main wave has a strong foam pile.
Might be a bit steep for longer boats.
But the 1st wave in front is perfect for learning; easy entry and smooth as glass...
You can watch the bead rock while you surf.

Raft season has just started but there isn't a whole lot of activity yet.
River Run had 25 odds campers last night. Including 9 from Montreal. Looked almost deserted.

No rain.
Nice big cumulus all day.
GrahameH showed up.

Adam Chappell was there as well with the young crowd he said he was leaving Monday for Germany and the Worlds Cup.
Go Adam Go!

Keegan, BenF and a few more regular I do not know the names of were there as well.

Ah! Kevin Mags spent some time on Garb as well. Not too bad and a lot better mouthed than he is on forum.
He was with Red Green - of his twin brother - who had a hell of a good time on Garb.

Interestingly, it is easier to get on Garb and back into the eddy than it is to deal with the swirls downstream of PushButton.
So if you ever dreamed of trying Garb, now's the time. Catch the train!

Good day on the river.
Making good progress as well.

Back Monday for more surfing and to pick up Alex.
We'll see you there.

Monday sounds great!

Do you think it would be good to leave a bit later so we can avoid the crowds that got up early to paddle before they leave?
I'd like to play and run the river... what time? noon?

Sandra

Hi Sandra,

Long time....I think you must of have posted mistakenly on the wrong thread.... I think you wanted to post on Bill's thread instead!

Cheers,

Paul ::)

Chris and I will try to make it on Monday afternoon. He's at Palmerfest tomorrow and Sunday. So we'll see how tired he is.

Okay, looks like everyone has plans for Monday, including myself so I'll remove the post for Saturday and join Roger at the Pump House.

See you guys Monday!

Was playing at Babyface today. Still in the 0 to -1 range as it has been for the last couple of weeks.  Drove down to Pushbutton/Garb afterwards and was watching a couple of guys having great surfs at Garb, they weren't having any problems catching it.

The water is still cool but comfortable now.  Gloves and hoody not really required, but wetsuit/drytop is.  I had my full drysuit on but I'd probably dispense with it next time for park and play unless I was running the river.

Have fun,
John

PS, saw a mother bear and 2 cubs in a field on the right just before reaching River Run... slowed to a stop and we all looked at each other for several seconds before they bolted, the curious cubs stuck around a bit longer  :)

Howdy All!

What's the level these days?

And what's Garb like - surfable?  Is Moby Dick out of the water yet?

From the pics, it's still wetsuit/drysuit temperatures, right??

Sean

p.s. I can't make it on Saturday, but might be interested in a park-and-play on Monday.

Saturday is now Monday as that seems to be the preffered choice of everyone. I'll paddle at the PumpHouse tomorrow instead...
