Tuesday evenings a group of the CCKEVM go paddling on the Lachine rapids. We did a 4.5km run. The group was split in 2 as there were some beginnners that did 2 runs on a class II-III route. The big line with the Big John (aka Big Joe) wave is a no swim run, solid roll is mandatory, otherwise the run is over and it is a very long swim but not otherwise dangerous. This is a very humbling experience to paddle on such a huge river so close to home. The flow was at 10500cms which is still more water than the Ottawa had this spring in record flood of 2019.
The contacts are either through the CCKEVM website or Phillipe Lavalle or Robert Downer on FB.
The later 2 live near the river.
