Well, it was interesting. Very high level, like May or early June levels. Eddy lines had to be taken seriously--many whirlpools there! A few swims--some epic, some silly. Big waves, and a demonstration of Girrrllll power, as Nat sent a whole tree (no kidding here) as a killer sieve in Cedar Rapids, on its way down river. Great day!

Camping sounds like a good plan and I may also camp Fri night.

This is the traditional weekend for the club's Gatineau Weekend.

I might camp at Bonnet Rouge Friday night if anyone feels like it.  I wanna get out of the city!  Nice weather.  Fire ban on I think

It will be a good day and I'll be there.  I can car-pool if anyone is interested.

I'd love to join Saturday.  I can drive, but can't take passenger and boat

Yes, Benoit did a nice job of correlating the readings posted by Bonnet Rouge Rafting to the Maniwaki gauge.

Nice, they just updated the level at Maniwaki while I was typing, it's now at 14.1.

Oh, spicy. It's at 15 at the moment.

BTW, Renaud SLR made a chart that takes the level of the Gatineau at Maniwaki (now we have daily readings) and applies a formula to get the Bonnet Rouge level that we're used to.

Basically you take the Gatineau level at Maniwaki from here: http://ottawariver.ca/location/maniwaki/
And apply the formula: (Maniwaki level * 9.3318) - 1509.3

This is the information from the Ottawa Whitewater Region Paddlers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ottawapaddlecrew/permalink/1376679569045436

I know this is not new, but I thought I'd share so that people can stop relaying on Bonnet Rouge, which is often not accurate since they don't update their website.

Hi folks,

We're planning a trip on the Gatineau this Saturday.  Meeting time is 10:30 AM at the Bonnet Rouge take-out.
Given the length of the shuttle, doing it by bike isn't a good option.
We will sort out cars for shuttling at Bonnet Rouge.
Google maps says to allow about 1 hr 45 mins or so for the drive there.
Please reply here if you're interested or to set up car-pooling, if needed.
