Thanks for an incredible day! So fun. Chip truck was open, yum. Peter Jim and I decided to adventure down to slate falls rapid for takeout, exciting! Was so good to see Liz Dave and Larry also. Miss all you CdBers. I'm going Valleyfield Saturday :)         paddle paddle paddle

See you at 10:30    -  The weather looks good so far.

P.S.
The chip truck has been open for many weeks.
The ice cream brand has changed (Apparently not as good as it used to be).

Hey guys and gals,

Here is a video that I found on Facebook called connection to water and is about the young VanWiks(probably spelled that wrong) on the Madawaska river. Please enjoy it before doing the Madawaska tomorrow. Have a ton of fun and maybe even see some of you Saturday at Valleyfied!:-)

Paul:-)

Ok ... take out at 10:30. Been there enough times to find my way again.

Old fashion way it we looked at the odometer.
Quadville-Putin rd turnoff: 7km
Putin rd turnoff- Takeout rd turn off: 6km
Take-out rd turnoff to hwy 41: 14.5km
(all measured by Jim eons ago)

I will be driving via the Quadville route ....
Facemask - never leave home without it.

Chip truck in Quadville also has ice-cream....

Sounding good! Liz is likely to join us and we will be coming from the Bancroft direction via Quadville where I would bet that the chip stand is open.

The TO coordinates listed below look a bit off as it gives me a point just above Slate Falls which is ~3km below what is the normal TO. Using these folks map: http://canadariversguidebook.ca/section/madawaska/lower/ and doing some cross referencing I put the parking lot ~ 45.232100,-77.313810

Yay!!!!!!!

Let's meet at the take-out for 1030 on Wednesday July 21, sound good?

Do you guys know where it is?  (I got lost last time)

Rough GPS coordinates:
PI: 45.267002 -77.377868
TO: 45.235809 -77.277040

Turn left at 8km sign.  Go past crooked rapids and slate falls.  Take-out is left at Buck Bay sign (sign is flat to road on the right and road is on a hill at a slight turn so easy to miss coming from town, easier to see coming from put-in).  Put-in is about 8km further (go past the farm house on the right) at the Aumonds Bay sign.

I'm going to car pool with Jim.  I think he's ok with car shuttle as long as double vaxxed

The flat waters good warm up cardio ahaha and beautiful scenery

I've never actually heard of Quadville, but I do like chip trucks

Can't wait!  SYOTR!

I am available Wednesday but prefer to do the shuttle in a vehicle. Is the chip truck open in Quadville?

Currently the level is around 100 cms ... level won't go any higher this week, OPG dropped a couple logs a few days ago and by the weekend 1 or 2 logs might drop the flow more.

Larry

Hey y'all, potentially running the lower mad Wed Jul 21 and Sat Jul 24 if anyone's interested.

I am a likely candidate for this Wed. The forecast is calling for a reasonable tail wind for the earlier part of the day, and every bit helps for that beginning slog of cursed flat water.
