Well, I don't have much reference for the Lorne, I haven't been there much in the last 2 years, but water was going over 1/2 of Moby Dick still, and Garburator was definitely not in: just one big diagonal wave on the left and a much smaller one on the right, flat-ish small wavetrain behind it all. Waikiki was ugly, a mix of a pour-over on the left and flat on the right (see photo).

As for Pushbutton itself, it was clearly worth the trip nevertheless. The level was a bit high and it was only good for front surfs. Still, you could stay as long as you wanted (or could). But it was much narrower and shallower than when it's at its best as I recall (the wave is shallow, not the water--still very deep there, no risk of hitting anything). Even though the level was high, the water was not very fast, this is still a great wave to learn on. Access is sooo easy: there's a sweet spot in the eddy line from which you can just slip on the wave without paddling, and the eddy current brings you back up without much effort; you could be back on the wave in less than 60 seconds. I don't think we would have as much fun trying to get on Babyface or Corner wave, so it's good we didn't go as far as McKoy's.

Robert had a bunch of long surfs; Tibor got on the wave a few times as well, even though he was in a boat that he'd never tried before on moving water! Looks like the new Jackson 4Fun is doing the trick, as he had a big smile on the whole time!

Cheers...

Tibor, Christian and I drove to Lorne yesterday and had great time on Pushbutton, the wave was easy to get on and stay on. . My guestimate of the level is somewhat above 1 (1.5?)

Since I won't be able to paddle next weekend, park'n'play sounds good tomorrow. Level was between 2 and 3 at the Owl gauge Sunday, we'll see what it is tomorrow. There are a few options, for instance we can go check out Garburator/Pushbutton on the way there, and decide. Pushbutton is good from +2 down.

Hi,
Some of us are debating heading out to play at McKoys Tuesday after work (Kanata park&and ride around 4 p.m.) Note: it's still up in the air as we are watching the level like hawks. If you think that you are intrested, please post here or pm me. We will likely decide Mon p.m.
Thank you,
Robert
