Have you tried attaining river right of the wave?  That's where we used to go up at low levels for a resurf, without having to get out of the boat.

Mind you, that was in 8'+ kayaks, so it might be a little harder now...

What? There were playboats Pre-Jackson era?  You gotta be kidding..:D

Hi Mark.

When as you flush off the wave, ferry hard towards Quebec. As soon as you come out of the main current, you will notice that the river there is a bunch of wide, shallow ledges barely submerged, perhaps with seaguls STANDING, not floating. Read those slow waters and work your way back upstream until you find yourself in water 6" deep. You might even be able to strand yourself. From there, if you get out of your boat, you will see a small rock pile somewhat upstream of the wave, and river left of it. If you're careful about where you go, you can find a path to it where the water never goes deeper than 1 foot. You can put in at that rock pile and ferry to the wave. I don't have photos, infortunately... Have fun!

Cristian/Paul ,Just a few questions ,...  how far is the eddie once you flush off the wave , is it right besiide Remic? or do you paddle a ways over then come up ,  , how long from when you flush off remic wave till your back on it ?    thanks for doing that , I'd have helped but I have Nooooo free time hardly .  I used to have 45 minitue surfs on remic  ;D I hope its as good as it was a few years back .  will definetly check out soon .

Christian knows where my house is...outside Manotick.
I'm in Montreal, the canoe is on a rack outside, next to the garage.
(You break it you keep it.)
Actually, the canoe is not doing to follow us in Montreal.
Anyone from the club who wants it can keep it.

OK, lets try and make something happen for this Thursday (tomorrow) Evg. We can combine it with the Champlain Bridge gig, and talk about our rock moving skills over pops at the pub afterwards. Where would we meet? Sewer Wave in Quebec, Remic Rapids parking lot in Ontario, or at Champlain? If we do Champlain, I could run a shuttle vehicle down to Remics parking lot and then rollerblade back up.

What about a canoe? I can possibly help pick up Louis's and transport it if needed.

A canoe! I would of never thunk it  ;)  Count me in when you are ready to move some rock piles. How big do the rocks need to be? Could an empty creek boat being tugged, and with a foam pad on the bottom for protection, do the trick?

The mini-eddy is not very big. It's basically 5-6 rocks piled together, and it has been there since at least August 2007, judging form the vegetation growing on it. It would be nice to add a few more rocks to consolidate it. The shallow areas around it contain no loose rocks. Does anyone have a canoe? We could put a few rocks in it and tow it there, even a single trip would be significant!

This wave is the best thing right now in town...

Christian and I surfed Remics' Wave today. Whay a sweet wave, if you can catch it. Forunately the paddle walk up is now much easier. Just stay to the near paddler's right when paddling up and go to shallow water and walk up the rest of the way to the rocks forming an eddy and repeat... FUN! I got a 3 minute ride my last go 'round... ;D!
