Caro, you had your paddle at the take-out for sure since I gave it to you there. You then put it in Todd's truck...I hope! If not, then it's still at the take out... When we got back to the put-in, all paddles that had been in the back of the truck were still there, even if the tailgate was open...was yours really in there, then? Such bad luck...
But all is not negative, to the contrary! J-N had a great squirt boat run, got great photos of it! The level was 160 (wathever units), the water cold, and the whole run was significantly harder than earlier this summer on July 2nd at 100 on the gauge. The Canyon (first rapid) was big, but thankfully not too pushy. Daniel went in among the first but emerged last... He stayed a bit longer than he wanted, so to speak. Caro got caught by the large curly pillow that formed at the big rock and wasn't able to deal with the boils around it. Had a swim, but it's an ok place to swim, no danger there. She ran the rest of the river without problem. And... at this level, dropping into Turbo might reshape the blades of you paddle, as CJ learnt. Altogether a nice day!
