Fair enough. I was mistaken. Since the Ottawa is also high (ca. 10), it appears that reservoirs are being emptied. Are they expecting heavy rains from hurricane season? Glad Gatineau was nice, it's rare to experience Spring flood levels in warm water. Last time I saw it at this level this late, it was 2008 I believe. We ended up doing the Rouge, it was a very nice level to try a few new lines!

We went today to the Gatineau, the level is Very Very definitely 21, I read the guage myself. High Tension wave was awesome, it is not  difficult to get on or get back to the eddy for a short carry up. There was only a small crowd there, just enough to give everyone a short rest between surfs, about 10-15 min laps, I did not time it too closely.
We saw Adam & Dominique, Renau & Cindy and many other Quebecois.

We had Lucy as our shuttle driver, she is Louise's granddaughter, very friendly. She had good stories about the Eclipse weekend.

The Bonnet Rouge was updated regularly and recently. In fact they changed it Saturday morning to 22.5 from the 23.5 that was posted late Friday night, which was not left from the spring.

Cheers,
Bruce.

Perhaps I wasn't clear in my previous message. The Bonnet Rouge gauge hasn't been updated since the Spring. The level is very very likely NOT 23.5.

It has been updated since then, but not very frequently. The Internet Archives has one example for that time frame; Aug 7th:
https://web.archive.org/web/20180807232125/http://www.bonnetrougerafting.com
They were saying that it was 12.0 then, but who knows when that was recorded.

Their website has been saying 22.5 (not 23.5) for at least several days now. My guess is that they recorded that during the Sept 8-9 weekend:
http://www.ottawariver.ca/river-levels-flows.php
and that things have generally been dropping since then. The Gat in Gat has definitely taken a noticeable drop in levels between Wed and Sat of this week.

I'm a bit scared about the Gat level so Frida and I are going to join the Yannick gang for the Rouge.
It seems Bruce & Co are going to try out the Gatineau.
Sorry for the confusion, I'm definitely not a born organizer, more of a disorganizer...

The Bonnet Rouge guage is at 23.5 .

Doubtful. Number has been stuck to this value for months. The date appears to be generated automatically when page is accessed.

Level was around 16 during the festival.

Rouge too low at 45? Seriously? Last time we were there at 60, everybody was too scared to run the Washing Machine except for me... I've run it as low as 14 and it was still fun.

Hi Dani,

I think the Rouge is a little low.

We would like to run the Gat. but I would like to be back for a 7pm dinner.
Meet at Bonnet Rouge at 10:30am, that would have us leaving home at 8:30am, shuttle, putin river at about 11:30am and of at 3:30am.

We could drive Jack, where is he?

Cheers,
Bruce.

I am looking o paddle on Sunday. The Gat sounds good if the level is reasonable. Although, not sure what is a reasonable range.

I'd like to paddle on this likely last hot Sunday of the year - maybe the Gatineau?
