Thanks, Christian, but I have an appointment downtown at 6:30 tonight.
(I was probably being too optimistic about the "today" part in my "p.s." :)

Anyone paddling at Champlain tomorrow (Thu., Jun 13) night and/or Whispers-ing afterwards?

Looks like the water level is holding up, at around 59m.

I'd be glad to join in, if anyone can offer a ride from Gladstone Ave (in exchange for a beer, say! :)

Cheers,
Peter

p.s. Alternatively, if anyone is paddling the Ottawa (or other beginner to intermediate level destination) today through Friday, or Mon-Wed next week, I'd love to join!  Happy to help with gas money, and to set up a shuttle via bike (if we can squeeze the bike in too, that is)!

Martin,

You can believe Christian or you can believe me and the picture that I took this very evening at Champlain!
Just saying....

Just went early this morning before work. Water level is indeed dropping fast. The wave is back at that level where it breaks quite a bit causing boats to want to side surf. It's still quite nice to play in.

The eddy is changing... the downstream current is definitely starting to encroach in the eddy but still easy to get up (especially along the wall).

Water is indeed droping fast.... too late!
