Heuuuummmm.

hi

Novice - Intermediate skill level.
The very popular Gatineau Festival runs on the very same stretch of water .... www.gatineau.org provides a good description of the river.
My general description ... a long lake with some rapids thrown in just to make it interesting.

The festival attracts boaters of all skill levels.
Normally the gauge reading for the Festival runs around 13-15 which is ideal and lots of fun.

Presently the gauge reading is 4-5 and has been there most of the summer

Larry

What is the needed level of paddling skill for this river? I have done the Middle Channel on the Ottawa with 1 swim.

Louis,

Christian, Jack, Sara and I though that you could bring the salmon with some dill (Anneth), lemon juice and tartar sauce. Since you will not be paddling Saturday you could help Larry prepare the Feast! Bring your receipt so that Christian can reimburse you! I'm bringing some homemade salsa with corn chips, bread rolls and butter!

Thanks,

Paul

The level is very low so it is not hard and you can portage the big ones if you feel you need to.

hi

No the stand alone thread

http://www.cdb-ottawa.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?topic=4082.msg8127;topicseen#msg8127

provides a google map link to Bonnet Rouge and indicates the meet time.

10:30 am is the meet time

If it takes 5 minutes for the group to organize the shuttle, shift boats around, yada yada,  well then you can get going at 10:35 am to the river.
But when does that ever happen?

Larry

If you read above, I think Larry says, that departure of the suttle is at 10:30AM.

I will be coming, paddling tandem in an open boat with Dave, who has not done this river.... hopefully we will not be  the "entertainment" as Mark Harley suggested when I showed up years ago to paddle solo (I was already Terrified... but later Mark was there first to help when I dumped at Corbeau.)

Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces

I'm planning to go for Saturday and Sunday...would like to carpool up on Saturday morning. What time is the first run getting started (or does it go in waves?)

...oh, I see that Sandra has basically asked the same question...
